Snoop Dogg, Method Man & Red Man at the Congress Theater in Chicago

snoopdoggIn the 17 years since his debut Doggystyle (the album that brought you the rap classic “Gin & Juice”) was dropped on the masses, Snoop Dogg has grown to become one of hip hop’s most successful and accessible icons.  With over 30 million albums sold along with a growing film and television career, the West Coast rapper has come a long way from his hardened Gangster Rap days back at Death Row Records.  Add to his career the newly appointed position of Creative Chairman for the recently revived Priority Records (the West Coast label famous for its catalog featuring hip hop artists Eazy E, N.W.A., EPMD and others).  Snoop Dogg will be releasing his 10th studio album Malice N Wonderland through the label on December 8.

The album features production from Scott Storch, Dr. Dre, The Neptunes and Just Blaze and includes guest vocals from artists like Soulja Boy, R. Kelly, and others.  The first single “Gangsta Luv” features vocals from The Dream.

The Dogg Father is currently on the road with “The Wonderland High School Tour” to promote the new album.  Joining him on tour are fellow hip hop veterans Method Man & Redman who’ve just released Blackout! 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 1999 album Blackout!.  Hip hop fans can expect to hear old school classics as well as new material from both artists’ this Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Congress Theater.
