Peaches & Amanda Blank @ The Metro in Chicago

When Peaches released her debut album Teaches of Peaches, she unleashed an explosion of crass electropunk hits that were instantly well received by the indie music world. Singles like “F*ck the Pain Away” and later “Set It Off” and “Boys Wanna Be Her” filled downtown dancefloors with sexual energy and set the tone for future frontwomen to continue the raw musical trend she made popular.

Like her previous albums, Peaches most recent album I Feel Cream demonstrates more dancefloor ready sexually explicit songs like “Talk to Me”, “I Feel Cream” and “Lose You”. With production work from Soulwax, Simian Mobile Disco and Digitalism on the album, the tracks are more sexy and grown up this time around. Peaches has also set out with the full live backing band Sweet Machine (Germany) in support of the release for her “I Feel Cream Tour”. Expect the in-your-face attitude of her music to translate to her live performances filled with her characteristic punk rock antics and glam (and bizarre) wardrobe changes. Meanwhile check out her new official blog for exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the tour as well as official videos for tracks from the new album.

Opening on select dates for the tour is Philly based female MC Amanda Blank. Also known for her sexually charged flow, Blank is on tour in support of her first solo album. Her debut “I Love You” features collaborations with artists Lykke Li, M.I.A., The Cool Kids and fellow Philly friends Santigold, SpankRock, Diplo and XXXChange.

Peaches & Amanda Blank will be playing the Metro on Friday, November 20, 2009. Tickets are now available through The Metro – Chicago IL.
