Detention a 2 Level 5,500 square foot dance and nightclub dedicated to serious sound and light, a real assault on your senses, Chicago’s premier dance club and late license nightclub in the city. Detention is designed to look like an after school detention hall, with blue painted brick walls, chalk boards, and rock maple flooring, our cocktail waitresses add to the theme clad in naughty catholic school girl uniforms and the movie “The Breakfast Club” plays throughout the club.

Boasting the largest dance floor in the Gold Coast and a 2nd floor VIP room that seats 40 with Division Street views and a view of the entire dance floor. The 3,000 square foot dance floor and main bar hosts some of Chicago’s hottest DJ’s – such as DJ Trentino, DJ Ora, DJ Rock City, DJ Gordo, Sean Strange, just to name a few Music at Detention is the latest Top 40s mashups, house, hip hop, and the hottest dance music so there is always something new to dance to and our state of the art mechanical lighting and laser light show will mesmerize you while you groove to the music.

The party starts at 10 pm every night and ends at 4 am during the week and 5 am on Saturdays, our D.J.’s will start the beat and our beautiful Go Go dancers will keep the party going at the 5 stripper poles situated around the dance floor. Available for private events, corporate functions, holiday parties, and theme parties.
