Located on the second floor of the building next to Sound Bar, Y radiates a golden glow, thanks to the blond onyx stairs, bar tops and accents throughout, as well as the deep caramel and brown furniture.
After paying cover, hit the bar straight ahead, but expect to spend at least $10 on a cocktail. The bottle service-only lounge area on the left dominates the space; behind its dark, cushy couches, plasma screen TVs broadcast weird MTV Amp’d-like graphics somewhat in tune with what the DJ is playing. Despite the presence of a few scantily clad dancers, Y doesn’t have a dance floor and, hence, not much of a dance scene. But people here don’t come to sweat it out on the dance floor; everyone wears their best (don’t even bother trying to get in with sneakers or flip flops on), and the attractive crowd (even the bathroom attendant had it together) commands a second or third glance. The ladies don sexy low-cut frocks and the guys are the types that read men's lifestyle magazines and heed the advice.
Y definitely isn’t for everyone; it can be a bit elitist since more than half of the space caters to the bottle-service crowd. But if you want to feel sexy and money doesn't matter, Y is a great option.
